이자원 개인전: Linger

이자원은 작업 안에서 부재하거나 사라진 대상을 찾고 기다리며 그 대상이 남긴 허물이나 껍질에 대한 관심을 바탕으로 조각과 설치를 다뤄왔다. 장소특정적 공간 설치 형식으로 소개되는 전시 《 Linger 》에서 작가는 그간의 관심을 공간 규모로 확장시키며 그 껍질 속으로 들어가 본다. lingerer 를 자처하며 예기치 못하게 이곳을 떠난 대상이 미처 챙겨가지 못한 그림자를 관찰하고 그것과 동화됨으로써 대상 없이 대상과 마주하기를 시도한다.

Lee Jawon, who deals with sculpture and installation, has been looking for and waiting for an absent or missing being in her work, and has been interested in the skin or shell left behind by that being. In 《 Linger 》, an exhibition in the form of a site-specific installation, the artist expands her interest to the spatial scale and burrows into the shell. Self-proclaimed as a lingerer, she observes and assimilates a shadow of a person who had to leave this house unexpectedly could not take. By doing so, she attempts to face the existence that does not exist 'here and now'.
