강정현 개인전: 꿈과 혐오

흐르는 피와 반항, 징그러운 벌레들은 어쩌면 나의 환각을 비집고 들어와 향수(鄕愁) 속에 잠든 나를 깨우는 숭고한 현실의 무게다. 허허벌판에서 서로에 대한 기대와 두려움을 교환하며 작고 연약한 모습으로 ‘살고’있는 존재들. 그러한 무서우면서도 아름다운 삶의 감각을 그려 보고 싶었다.

The flowing blood, the rebellion, the grotesque insects—these may be the solemn weight of reality breaking through my visions, rousing me from the nostalgic dream into which I had fallen. Somewhere in the midst of a vast, empty field, there exist fragile, small beings who continue to live—quietly exchanging hopes andfears. I have sought to capture the terrible yet beautiful essence of their lives.
