박경률 개인전 : ON EVENNESS

Baik Art Seoul is pleased to present, "On Evenness", an exhibition by Park Kyung Ryul which aims to challenge the fundamental conceptions of painting and art-historical tradition.

The title of the show refers to the multiple vantage points the artist uses as she works to create sculpturally informed visual expressions that equally play to her deliberately placed art objects as well as the pre-existing architecture of the gallery.

Having utilized a broad scope of interdisciplinary materials, the viewer's familiarity with Park's suggestive mark-making become increasingly blurred. Although never truly representative, the gestures within each artwork act as abstracted signifiers that question one’s pre-existing didactic understandings of visual culture.

This web of interpretative thought is derived from Park's process-driven experimentations and allude to her institutional background and perceptions of classical oriental landscape-painting.
